Karl Patterson's baseball card business doesn't
stack up very well against the software company
his father founded. For this and other reasons
he is surprised when his father comes to him for help.
But what his father wants is for Karl to evaluate an
employee who may be a compulsive gambler,
something his father accuses Karl of being. Karl
acquiesces, however, and when his father assigns the
exotic Arrow, a woman of many races, to help
him, that doesn't hurt. But what he doesn't know
about the job can be murder.
"We have been holding our breath with each chapter.
The book is great. Living in the area and knowing San
Francisco make it very real to us."
